8. Did you know that Antarctica is the world’s largest desert?!

Kind of unbelievable right? Here are some Antarctica fun facts 👇🏼

🧊 The Antarctic Polar Desert makes up most of Antarctica & is the largest desert in the world

✖️ At 5.5M square miles (14.2M square kilometers) it’s larger than the Sahara, Arabian, & Gobi Deserts combined

🌨️ Even though it’s cold & icy, Antarctica meets the criteria of desert because it gets such little precipitation over the course of the year (& I was lucky enough to see it snow when visiting!)

🧊 Antarctica is mostly ice flats & said ice is on average 1.5 miles (2.45km) thick (honestly this is a “holy shit” fun fact)

🌱 There’s basically no plantlife in Antarctica so most of the wildlife is carnivores

Did you know these Antarctica fun facts?! Which is your favorite?

14. ☕️🚊Would you have a coffee at the famous train street in Hanoi sitting next to a passing train and too so close?

🚊The Hanoi Train Street is one of the most famous and adventurous tourist spots in Hanoi. It’s a tiny narrow street hidden in one of the back streets of Hanoi and surrounded by high narrow houses packed closely together. These families’ backyards are the railways where the train passes a few times per day.

🚊The access to this are is not always easy, it depends upon the police control. The easiest way to enjoy this experience is to check the train schedule (I have shared the current train timetable but it keeps changing) and enjoy a coffee at train street cafes around that time. There are several cute cafes.

☕️ The Egg Coffee is worth it and we really enjoyed the experience and vibe. I would go again for it.

✨Is it dangerous? I
I personally didn’t feel scared or in danger at any point. But I followed all the instructions given by cafes and local ladies on the street. Coz they announce when the train arrives.

19. Snowshoeing for the first time in Rangeley, Maine ❄️

While in the beautiful town of Rangeley, Maine, I was looking to broaden my horizons and try something new. In a snowy town with plenty of activities to choose from,.

Nestled at the base of Saddleback Mountain I already knew I was in for some exciting views. After meeting the kind lady working at the trail center, she recommended I try snowshoeing on one of the many trails they offer 🌲

It also happened to be ‘Mens Day’ (Tuesday) so the entire experience was half off! 🎉

I chose the Lake Trail, and began my trek to picnic point right on Saddleback Lake! The trail itself offered beautiful forest views, with little creeks and bridges along the path. I eventually arrived at Saddleback Lake, where you get an incredible view of the lake frozen over, with Saddleback Mountain towering behind it 🏔️

It was truly an incredible experience, and I can now confidently say snowshoeing is something I can’t wait to do again! 💙

27. Rangeley’s Smalls Falls Waterfall Hike 💧

If you know me, you know I’m a sucker for a good waterfall hike, and the Smalls Falls did not disappoint. The snow covered forest transformed this trail into a dreamy winter wonderland ❄️

It was my first time seeing waterfalls covered in snow and ice but still with a steady stream of water pouring down like frozen glaciers cascading down the mossy rocks surrounding the falls themselves. It felt like I walking within a snow globe but with glimpses of orange leaves still hanging on from the preceding fall 🍁

The hike itself was short and sweet. You’re immediately met with breathtaking views of the forest and waterfalls. Exploring the area was truly a magical experience, one that you have to visit when traveling to, or through, Rangeley, Maine 🥾
